Andrew taught Irish, Music and French in Oaklands Community College in Edenderry, before joining the start-up team in Firhouse ETSS in 2018. During this first year, he acted as Progress Leader for the first year students, while also engaging in Restorative Practice training.
Over the past number of years, Andrew has worked with Junior Cycle for Teachers, the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment, and also, with the State Examinations Commission as an examiner for the oral and written examinations.
In his previous school Andrew managed the Erasmus Plus programme which involved 19 teachers partaking in CPD and job-shadowing around Europe.
Andrew is currently studying for a Postgraduate Diploma in School Leadership in University of Limerick. His educational passions include student voice, student welfare and blended learning (digital technologies).
I am delighted and excited to continue to grow with Firhouse Educate Together Secondary School in the role as Deputy Principal. The journey so far has been incredible with exciting opportunities for students, staff, and the wider school community. I hope to build on the solid foundations of our school, to support a caring and nurturing environment for students to develop and learn in.
