Student Progress Meetings

Student Progress Meetings

Each academic year, a student progress meeting will be held for each year group separately. This allows us a chance to meet and talk about how the learning is going for students and how they are getting on generally. We ask that students come to these meetings to be a part of the conversation.

Upcoming 2nd Year Student Progress Meeting

In-person Student Progress Meetings will take place from 4:15pm to 6:45pm on Wednesday, 08 Feburary 2023 and each individual teacher slot will be maximum 5 minutes. To ensure that there is efficiency to the meetings and to be mindful of people’s time, we are going to schedule the meetings in advance, using our scheduling software.

What will the Student Progress Meeting be like?

The Student Progress Meeting is a chance for you to meet with the teachers where you can reflect and discuss the learning students have been doing in that subject since the start of the academic year. To reflect our open school culture, we ask that students are part of these conversations and come along that evening. It is a super opportunity for the students to take ownership of their learning and talk about their progress in the various subjects.

Deadline to schedule appointments is 5pm on Monday 22nd of January 2023 - this deadline is final

Scheduling is simple and only takes 6 steps:

Step 1 We ask that you use our online scheduler to schedule appointments with the teachers you wish to see. The website we are using for this is https://ptmorg.com.
Step 2 Click ‘Parent/Guardian Login’.
Step 3 Put in the School Roll Number. For Firhouse ETSS this is 68307J.
Step 4 Put in the VSware ID associated with your child. The unique VSware ID for your child can be found within VSware under ‘Personal Info > School’ (this is true for both the desktop version https://firhouseetss.vsware.ie and school app version of VSware).
Step 5 When you enter these details, it will bring you to a page where you will see only the teachers your child has. You will need to rank these from the highest number to the lowest (1 being the highest, and so on). Remember, the rank in which you put the subjects is important as a meeting with each teacher is not guaranteed due to high volumes of students and limited time on the evening.
Step 6 When you have the preferences done correctly, be sure to submit by clicking ‘I Will Attend This Meeting’ in the bottom right hand corner. This step is key to secure the preferences.

The schedule for the entire year group will be created next week. It will not be possible to schedule meetings once this date has passed. This is due to the complexity of the software and the extra demands this takes. As you know, we are down Carol in the office at the moment and need your help with meeting the deadline.

When the timetables are generated by Andrew in the office, we will send you a VS-Mail and text letting you know your unique timetable is ready. You will be able to see this timetable by repeating steps 1-4 from the steps above.
